I have this fold-up elephant tote to carry my overflow.
Because I work ‘out in the field’ all day I use a large, heavy bag that fits A4 papers, books, my laptop, snacks, warm jumper. Sometimes it gets too heavy to carry everything at once, and other times I collect more stuff during the day (I do shopping, or clients give me briefing material to read) and I need something to catch the overflow.
I have this elephant tote by DAY Birger et Mikkelsen. It clips onto a keyring or a bag strap and you can fold it out to carry overflow. It cost me $9/€8 and I have used it a lot.
I also use it as a day tote over weekends when I am just popping out quickly to do shopping (I clip it on my keyring) and pop it into my suitcase when I travel.
There is also one with a bear!
